Be Still, and Know

Begin Again International exists to help adults encounter God through Scripture-centered creativity — and to understand how He designed the brain to receive it.

"Be still, and know that I am God."

Psalm 46:10

Stillness Is Not Passive.
It Is Participation.

Much of our daily living is driven by analysis, problem-solving, and survival. This part of the mind is necessary — but it can become dominant. When we are constantly solving, striving, or scanning for what is next, we struggle to rest in presence.

Yet God designed another pathway within us — one that responds to rhythm, imagery, metaphor, beauty, and story. This imaginative, integrative capacity is deeply connected to worship, creativity, and relational knowing.

Begin Again International exists to open that pathway — through Scripture-centered art and poetry encounters that move the nervous system from striving into steadiness, and from reaction into reflection.

"When we engage in Scripture-centered creativity, we are not escaping reality. We are activating the part of the mind that perceives meaning — the part that integrates emotion and truth, and allows us to experience God, not just understand Him."

How God Designed
the Brain to Know Him

Scripture does not only speak to the analytical mind. It speaks to the whole person — through image, rhythm, metaphor, and beauty. When we engage these pathways through creative practice, something shifts.

Stillness calms the survival response and opens space for presence — "Be still…"

Creativity engages imagination as a pathway to spiritual intimacy — "He put a new song in my mouth."

Beauty strengthens neural pathways of peace, integration, and worship — "Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly."

Knowing becomes encounter not merely information — "…and know that I am God."

Our Four Pillars

Scripture as Foundation

Every encounter begins with the Word. We do not use creativity as a therapeutic technique — we use it as a doorway into Scripture, allowing the imagination to meet truth in a way that analysis alone cannot reach.

Creativity as Worship

God designed the human brain with an imaginative, integrative capacity — one that responds to rhythm, imagery, metaphor, beauty, and story. When we create from Scripture, we are not escaping reality. We are activating the part of the mind that perceives meaning.

Stillness as Participation

Stillness is not passive. It is participation. When the body slows, the breath deepens. When rhythm softens, the survival system quiets. When safety is felt, the heart can listen again — and knowing becomes more than information. It becomes encounter.

Community as Formation

Whether in an individual session or a group gathering, we believe that creative encounter is never truly solitary. We create together, listen together, and are formed together — in the presence of the One who put a new song in our mouths.

Who We Serve

Begin Again International welcomes adults who are ready to encounter God through creativity — regardless of diagnosis, history, or art experience. Our sessions are designed to be safe, gentle, and deeply respectful of each person's unique journey.

We also partner with churches and faith communities who desire to cultivate spiritual formation through embodied, creative experience — not just through teaching, but through encounter.
